O my poor Eyes….

Added by Damen Gorilla on December 4th, 2007

Forced out of the dark recesses of the shoe making hut here I am tagged and confused….for background and “rules” see here.

Facts about me:

1 I am not partial to spiders of any variety, but especially the ones that make wild flailing dashes for your trouser leg. My reaction is not one of death and destruction, but to get as far away as is reasonably possible in 3 milliseconds.

2 I choose to be bald, meaning I shave my head regularly (to stop me looking like coco the clown). However I do live up to my second name with body hair—but I dont have hairy eyeballs.

3 I was once so taken with tequilla and machismo pride and competition that me and a friend slammed a bottle each at the bar in about 45 minutes, I was declared winner when he couldnt stand up to pee, yes it was messy. I remember we didnt get laid that night.

4 I decided at the age of 10 that religion was a bit of a joke and refused to go to sunday school, prefering to read the back of cornflake boxes and watch paint dry.

5 Not that I condone any of their philosophy, action or being, the gestapo sure had some desirable full length leather trenchcoats which I ve always wanted, but never owned. I did however own a big woolly reefer jacket that made me look like a camp Russian gangster.

6 I hate christmas. The over indulgence, forced community, relatives that you really don’t want to waste your best 16 year old single malt on, let alone the cooking wine. Bah freakin humbug.

7 I love christmas. The stuffing, the presents of best 16 year old single malt, the cooking wine to mull, mince pies and sport on boxing day………ahhhhh bliss.

8 I am so incredibly thankful that my chosen path now means I dont get my hands dirty or have to worry about killing anyone.

Tagees: Random method of selection.

Sasy Scarborough, Swirly Cyclone, Aphrodite Outlander, Arabeth Laval, Rose Farina, Torley Linden, Tillie Ariantho, Gabrielle Reil.

Tagged 4 Times!

Added by sachi Vixen on December 4th, 2007

I got tagged 4 times yesterday by different people and I tried to ignore it but there were just too many, so here goes!

(1) Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.

(2) People who are tagged need to write a post on their own blog (about their eight things) and post these rules.

(3) At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.

(4) Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

1. I don’t drink milk and I don’t eat white bread. When I was a little girl all the children in class used to have free milk and at milk time I used to talk to an imaginary friend I invented called the marvellous magical milk machine which gave me pretend lemonade instead.

2. I have 3 cats and one son. I’m very proud of my son and he works hard at school and is a good boy. My cats are still kittens really as they are all under 1 year old. I got them from a charity as they were all rescued. Tango and Luna were babies of a stray cat and Sushi is 3 weeks younger and was adopted by their mother after being abandoned by her own. Sushi likes to lick and snuffle my armpit .. eww.

3. I don’t like lifts and small closed in spaces. I’d rather walk up the steps in a large building than take a lift.

4. In real life I’m a published writer as I have written some books for children. You’d never believe it if you read my typoese!

5. When I was a teenager I wanted to be an actress and appeared in a couple of commercials on TV. I didn’t succeed in this career but I did get to meet some people who are famous in the UK.

6. I love the water, specially the ocean and I love to swim. I’ve always wanted to live by the sea but I never have.

7. I have long blond hair which I have highlighted every so often to brighten it up but my mother had flaming red hair.

8. Damen calls me piglet because I once told him I’d like to be reincarnated as a pig because I heard they have 30 minute orgasms.

Commenting on Comments!

Added by sachi Vixen on September 19th, 2007

I am taking a moment to post some comments here that are not related to a new release, something I rarely do because there is something that needs to be said.

To be honest Damen and I very rarely have any negative customer service or comments. I like to think this is because we treat people as kindly and fairly as we’d hope to be treated ourselves and we produce good quality items. Yes there are always the odd one or two who try to push it or take advantage but on the whole people seem happy to shop at our store. Having said that, we recently had a rather spiteful comment on this blog. Since that comment went through there have been some other comments from the same person in a argumentative fashion that I have not allowed to reach the blog and I am going to explain why.

This site is a showcase for our work, not a showcase for your spite.

In second life there is a great deal of diversity and this is how it should be. If all that was on offer were 10L sweat shop produced items then the commercial industry would quickly die. There is room for all of us who create in second life and the diversity makes it more fun so there is no need for anyone to feel threatened by the things that I or anyone else makes. It is not just about new stores, the established stores are here too and we set the standards which the consumer has come to enjoy. We were all new stores once and if we are enjoying any sucess it is because we have worked exceptionally hard to achieve it. Diversity helps raise the standards of what is made by everyone on the grid and without that diversity and the more established stores it might just be a blingtard’s paradise with content that many people would enjoy less. So let’s stop knocking people and enjoy ALL of the wonderful things that the grid has to offer.

1. If you have a problem with an item you have purchased from me, please simply contact me and we will do our best to work it out.

2. If you don’t like my avatars face, send me an IM and come and have a chat, I won’t even charge you for the psychiatric counselling.

3. If you don’t like what we make, that’s fine, the world would be a dull place if we all liked the same things but it isn’t neccessary to be spiteful or try to imply that there is no level of skill or professionalism involved in making the items. I am not upset that you don’t like it, the people who do bother to try a demo and spend lindens on it are happy. The people we have worked on projects for, like helping to showcase the movies 300, Die Hard 4 and Transformers in second life are happy with the level of skill and professionalism in our work. That’s all we need to know. Thank you.

A Big Thank You!

So many people I want to say thank you to today for all their help in recent weeks! We are really making progress with our new store build and hope to be opening very soon. It wouldn’t have been possible without the help of some amazing people. First of all I must thank the amazing Sandry Logan of Logspark who has listened to my ideas for the new store and helped make some of them a reality with her scripting skills, she is responsible for the working escalator and the fabby changing rooms at the new adam n eve.

I can’t thank Sandry without thanking mine and Damen’s special friend, Robin Laffer who built our escalator and changing rooms to free us up to do other things. These are the people I know I can call ona nd rely on when I need help and I value them beyond words.

I also want to thank the wonderful Tigerlily Koi for introducing me to KStarfire, and KStarfire, who made the ELCM texturing machine, which has made my life so much easier as I’ve been working on getting the new store ready.

Last but not least I have to thank my friends Sasy and Grazia for hearing me complain a hundred times about making demo’s and for putting up with my impatient complaints about all the work I have to do to get the new store ready! Those listening ears are worth their weight in gold and I do appreciate them!

So what’s new? I can see the finishing line in sight now, I’m just sorting out the men’s area, the casuals and then I think we are ready to open up and move in!

You can read more about the ELCM here! Calla
