This is Sparta!

Posted by sachi Vixen - March 17th, 2007

We at adam n eve have been a little quiet with few new releases for a few weeks. We’ve been working on a project that was commissioned by Dannyboy Lightfoot of the Picture Production Company (PPC), the leading international film marketing agency outside of Hollywood, to help with an event in Second Life to promote the release of the new Warner Brothers movie 300, based on a graphic novel written by Frank Miller.

PPC Press Release

Silverscreen

It has been a very busy few weeks for us, with 6 full avatars to make, including shape, skin, hair and supply of clothing. We have also made 2 costumes for male and female avatars, including jewellery and weapons, based on the movie theme which are being given away absolutely free at the themed Spartan build area on Silverscreen, PPC’s sim. The wonderful Spartan village was built by the talented Liam Kanno, whose group V3 work to build communities in Second Life, and is well worth a visit.

These are pictures of the costumes and accessories that will be on the Silverscreen sim to pick up free of charge, and they are well worth having!

Included in the female costume is the gown, flexi accessories, jewellery and sandals.

Included in the male costume is a prim loin, flexi cloak, sword, spear, helmet, sandals, sheild and wolf tooth pendant!

The tribute to the movie began today with a fantastic voice chat press conference in Second Life on the Silverscreen sim. Live, answering questions about the movie, and this special visit to second life were Frank Miller, author of 300 and executive producer of 300, Gerard Butler, Lena Headey and Rodrigo Santoro, stars of the movie, plus Zack Snyder the Director.

Representing them in world, on the couches in front of the press on Silverscreen sim were specially made custom avatars, made to look like the celebrities themselves. The avatars were made by Damen and I, at adam n eve!

We are very proud of this work and were privilidged to be part of this fabulous event. The avatars were approved by PPC, Warner Brothers and the celebrities themselves before they were allowed to meet the public!

Don’t forget to visit the Sparta build on Silverscreen and pick up the free custom made costumes by adam n eve!

Also don’t forget to pick up free sheilds, helmets and spears from around Sparta!

  1. Hey Sachi, once again you two have wowed me. Awesome job on the AVs…my fiance just mentioned that there was a SL tie in to the movie and I wondered who was involved and all the details. Thanks for sharing them with us all. I look forward to seeing your future projects.

  2. Awwww thank you so much Roslin, you are always so generous with praise, that takes a big heart. I admire your work also.

We worked very very hard on this project over the last weeks and it’s a wonderful thing to be involved in, but I need a weekend off!

  3. Hey Sachi.. a weekend absolutely merited. I was at the press conference, and the resemblance is striking (except from a little lag effect). Awesome response from the journalists, many of which RL and not used to play SL so hilarious situations of ppl not knowing how to sit down on a poseball and other newbie anxieties. Can;t wait to receive the transscript from Dannyboy as my audio sucked and I really need it to be able to write something sensible on it hahaha. Anyway… my compliments to both you and Damen on an awesome job!

  7. […] Upon my question to Lena Headey if she was pleased with her looks in SL and if she would consider playing SL for leisure she answered that the resemblance was striking and that she feared she would not be able to play without being recognized, so chances you will stumble upon her avie are little. For more photos, also from Rodrigo Santoro, Frank Miller and Zack Snyder, you can take a look at Adam ‘n’ Eve blog […]

  10. […] While the Spartan look is little, well, spartan for me, there are pieces I really like. The male costume is pretty damn hot, and that helmet is the bomb. The women’s gown is really sheer and pretty, and I’m never going to turn down free shoes or accessories. You can read more about the comissioning of these costumes, plus the avatars made for the film’s stars, over at adam n eve. […]
